Background On Richard Pombo, National Chair of the Partnership

Richard Pombo is the National Chairman for the Partnership for America and serves as its ambassador on the key partnership issues after serving for seven terms as a U.S. Representative (R-CA).

As National Chairman, he will campaign for more American energy supplies, public access to public lands, common sense government regulations and for economic freedom and more American jobs.

In his role as chairman of the House Resources Committee, he strongly advocated for and introduced legislation around science-based environmental policies.

Pombo gained bipartisan support for more legislation than all other House committees combined, including the Threatened and Endangered Species Recovery Act of 2005 (TESRA), to improve the protection and recovery of endangered species. Pombo was also a key author of the Energy Policy Act of 2005, which encouraged using our national resources to produce more domestic energy to reduce our foreign imports.

A champion of private property rights, in 1996 Pombo authored This Land is Our Land, which has been reviewed by publications across the political spectrum. Pombo is also senior partner at Pac/West and represents Pac/West nationally and globally in key markets.

A fifth generation Californian, Pombo attended California State University and resides with his family in Tracy, Calif.
